Christmas is Coming!

Christmas Day is not until December 25 but there are two opportunities before then for you to have some fun and find out more about Christmas.

On Thursday, December 11 anytime from 3pm until 10pm you can come and make Christmas cookies at Carla's house. You don't have to stay for the whole time - but come when you can and help make some delicious cookies.

Then on Saturday, December 13 at 7pm we will be having a Christmas Party at Tom and Ann's house (behind The Wisdom Tree). Bring a friend! We will be playing a gift swapping game so everyone needs to bring a small wrapped gift that costs no more than 50 Baht to swap with someone else.

American Thanksgiving (2008)

On Saturday our "family" celebrated American Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa, Mum and Dad, 4 Aunts and about 33 cousins! For dinner we ate chicken with gravy (turkey is cheap in America but very expensive in Thailand!), mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, shoe-peg corn, bread rolls and cranberry sauce.

A Charlie Brown cartoon told us all about the first Thanksgiving, we made mini-turkeys, played some games, sang some songs and everyone told us something that they were thankful for.

For dessert we had pumpkin pie and apple crisp and then some students battled it out in a game of Settlers of Catan while others sang the night away playing UltraStar.

American Thanksgiving (2007)

On Saturday the 22nd of November we are going to have an American Thanksgiving dinner at 6pm. There will be plenty of pumpkin pie and Charlie Brown will tell us about the very first Thanksgiving:

Below you'll find some pictures from last years dinner and we'll post some pictures from this years Thanksgiving in a future blog.

Next English Course

Our next English course runs from November 4 - 27 and you will get to experience American Thanksgiving and learn about American football. We are going to have a welcome party on Saturday, November 1 starting at 7pm where you can come along and have some fun, learn about our English classes, and register for this course.

If you can't come to the party you can register on the first night of classes (November 4) if there is still room! To find out where we are read this post.

Welcome!

At the Wisdom Tree we teach conversational English to university students and recent graduates. Our friendly teachers come from a number of countries including the USA, Germany and Australia, and we have classes at intermediate and advanced levels.

Our classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and you can choose to study at either 5pm or 7pm. We also hold regular Saturday night parties and cultural evenings where you can come and practice your English, have some fun, and learn about other countries.

On this blog we will post details for our upcoming courses as well as pictures from our student parties, cultural nights, and certificate presentations.

Our building is located close to CMU and Techno but we also have students from Payap and Maejo studying with us. You can see our building on Google Maps by clicking here (the square, grey roof right in the middle of the map) or you can find us by using the map on the right (click for a larger version).
